THE POINT OF ACUPUNCTURE....

Acupuncture is a system of medicine that aims to restore and maintain health.
Good health is not just the absence of pain or disease.
Traditional Acupuncture works to maintain the body's equilibrium by focusing on all aspects of wellbeing, physical, mental and emotional.

According to Traditional Chinese philosophy, our health is dependant on the bodys motivating energy moving in a smooth and balanced way. This energy is known as Qi and its flow may be blocked/disturbed or weakened by a number of factors. These include emotional states such as anxiety, anger or grief, as well as poor nutrition, hereditary factors, infections and trauma. When the Qi is unbalanced, illness may result.

By inserting ultra fine, single use/disposable needles at very specific points Acupuncture encourages and stimulates the bodys own healing response to restore the natural balance.

Treatment is aimed at the root cause of your condition as well as addressing your symptoms.
This approach can lead to a more permanent resolution of your problem.

Conditions commonly treated with Acupuncture include:
  • Arthritic Pain.
  • Hay Fever/ Sinusitis.
  • Menstrual Problems.
  • Infertility.
  • Digestive Disorders.
  • Migraine/Headache.
  • Respiratory Conditions.
  • Skin Conditions.
  • Sleeping Disorders.
  • Fatigue/ Tiredness etc.

    IS ACUPUNCTURE SAFE?

The results of 2 independent surveys published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) in 2001 concluded that the risk of serious adverse reaction to Acupuncture is minimal.

All Members of the British Acupuncture Council(MBAcC) must observe the 'Safe Code of Practice' which defines the hygiene and safety standards relating to the Practice of Acupuncture. These procedures have been approved by the Department of Health and provide protection against the transmission of infectious diseases.
